Acoustic Guitar – Costing

Some people have been asking how much it cost to make this guitar.
Adding up everything I bought comes to a grand total of £1074.11  (not including import duty for the US bought items). If you don’t need a pick-up in your instrument and don’t mind building without a router, dremel, and don’t make multiple orders from StewMac the price comes down to £786.62 which is actually not bad for an instrument of this quality. You could go cheaper still and not have wooden binding, pearl parts, nice tuners etc etc but where is the fun in that?

The actual kit was  $425.00 and the only other expensive things were the laminate trimmer and pickup. Most of the rest of the cost is for tools which can of course be used on future projects.
